Just last week alone, 1,278 pounds of batteries were collected at our local libraries and City Hall and kept out of the trash! 💚
And here’s another impressive number: In 2025, just under 21,000 pounds of batteries were collected through our battery collection program alone! 🙌 That doesn’t even include the batteries recycled during the twice-a-year Household Hazardous Waste & E-Waste Collection Events.
Properly disposing of batteries helps keep potentially hazardous materials out of our waste stream and gives batteries a safer place to go.

Tan solo la semana pasada, se recolectaron 1,278 libras de baterías en nuestras bibliotecas locales y en el Ayuntamiento, ¡evitando que terminaran en la basura! 💚
Y aquí hay otra cifra impersonate: En 2025, se recolectaron casi 21,000 libras de baterías únicamente a través de nuestro programa de recolección de baterías. 🙌 ¡Y eso ni siquiera incluye las baterías recicladas durante nuestros eventos de recolección de residuos domésticos peligrosos y desechos electrónicos que se realizan dos veces al año!
Desechar las baterías correctamente ayuda a mantener materiales potencialmente peligrosos fuera de nuestro flujo de residuos y permite que las baterías sean manejadas de una manera más segura.
¡1,278 libras en UNA SOLA SEMANA y casi 21,000 libras en 2025! 🔋♻️
