Psalm 91 New International Version (NIV)
Psalm 91
1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

3 Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 “Because he[b] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”

Fast Friends, Biblical Results Of Fasting And Prayer

We all know that there is power in prayer. Prayer is defined in several ways: it is how we praise and worship our glorious Lord and Savior; it is our most powerful weapon; our open door to communication with the living God; the vehicle to confess our sin; how to find God's will for our lives and one...

THE FAST OF JEHOSHAPHAT AND JUDAH
What if you were told a vast army is about to attack you and the people you love? What would you do? Panic, plan or try to talk your way out? Jehoshaphat knew exactly what to do: call all of Judah to come together to fast and pray before the Lord. Others might sharpen their weapons or strategize their battle plan. Not Jehoshaphat...he called an army of intercessors. Why? The king knew that the collective prayer of the people would honor God and show their dependence and commitment to Him.

The people of Judah proclaimed together that they had no power to face this vast army that was going to attack. They had no idea what to do, but their eyes were on God. Jehoshaphat and Judah had faith that the Lord would deliver them, even though they didn't know how. They confidently marched into war singing songs of praise. Before they reached the battleground, God had caused their opposition to turn on each other and all were dead. God delivered them from their enemies and the kingdom of Jehoshaphat was at peace, for God had given them rest on every side!

When times get tough what will be your first response? Will you worry, ruminate over your reaction, devise a solution, or will you inquire of the Lord?

The love of Christ controls us, because we know that one person died for everyone. So all have died. He died for all so that those who live would not continue to live for themselves. He died for them and was raised from death so that they would live for him.
2 Corinthians 5:14‭-‬15 ERV

The love of Christ controls us, because we know that one person died for everyone. So all have died. He died for all so that those who live would not continue to live for themselves. He died for them and was raised from death so that they would live for him.

Then the devil led Jesus to the holy city of Jerusalem and put him on a high place at the edge of the Temple area. He said to Jesus, “If you are the Son of God, jump off, because the Scriptures say, ‘God will command his angels to help you, and their hands will catch you, so that you will not hit your foot on a rock.’” Psalm 91:11-12 Jesus answered, “The Scriptures also say, ‘You must not test the Lord your God.’”
