Because I was asked---It is NOT TOO LATE to sign up for the shuttle to Little Odyssey Off-Trail Foot Race in Thompson Pass tomorrow! (Reservation is not required. You can just show up.) Shuttle is free and for racers, spectators, anyone. This service is provided by VAA with funding from City of Valdez, and a partnership with the Valdez Museum and Historical Archives.

No reservation needed. For racers AND spectators.
11:00 Free shuttle transport LEAVES from Valdez Museum 2017 Egan Dr.

RETURN TRIP
2:00 Shuttle loads at Little Odyssey pull-out. If any racers are later than this we will provide alternate transportation back to town.
2:30 Shuttle returns to Valdez Museum 2017 Egan Dr.
The Museum van will transport a maximum of 11 people. While it is unlikely that all the spots would be taken, if you would like to make a reservation to ensure a spot, please email [email protected]

Come race (or walk, or bring dog, or whatever, just have fun!) this Saturday. Here is a map for a possible route up Little Odyssey. Registration, swag, food, drink, tents, fires open at 11 – Yes, you can scout your route whenever you want (we will be on-site at 9). Race starts at Noon. Total distance for this route is a little over a mile (1.34 miles), but you can take shortcuts when you choose your own route. We chose a very identifiable route (to prevent people from going towards the wrong summit) rather than the most gradual possible route, but the slope never exceeds 40 degrees, and racers can keep to the right of the gully to avoid going up (or down) it.
