Boy Scout Troop 192, Valdese, NC We meet Monday nights at 7:00 p.m. at the Scout Hut located at 213 Massel Ave. in Valdese.

Scouting America Troop 192 is sponsored by the Waldensian Presbyterian Church in Valdese, North Carolina, and is in the Foothills District of the Piedmont Council.

This week was exciting for our troop at the Revolutionary Summer at Camp Bud Schiele. Afternoons were spent fishing and making new friends. Thursday night was Family Night and many were able to attend, have dinner with their scout, and see a spirited pep rally on the parade field. Overall, they collectively earned 21 merit badges and won 2 ribbons! Piedmont Council, Scouting America has a beautiful setting for camp and our scouts truly enjoyed it.

Happy ! Norman Rockwell's We Too Have a Job to Do was originally published for a 1944 Brown and Bigelow Scouting America Calendar encouraging Scouts to support the war effort during World War II, later appearing on the cover of Boy's Life that February. The model, Bob Hamilton, had won a contest with his local council in Albany, NY, to be depicted in the painting.

Congratulations to our newest OA member from Troop 192 to join the ranks in Eswau Huppeday Lodge #560. He completed his ordeal this weekend and is quite proud of his accomplishment, as are we! Well done!
