Thank you to the new Purple Air Monitor owners who have joined our local map. We appreciate your data being shared with our community. If you too would like to have a Purple Air Monitor we suggest the Flex model and to register it as "public" so other people can see your readings on the map. To view the map go to vvamp.org

Thank you to the people who have gotten Purple Air Monitors and been added to the public viewing map. It is very helpful information. If you are interested in having a Purple Air Monitor we recommend the Flex model and selecting Public when registering it. This way everyone can see the data it is collecting.

The PurpleAir Flex is the latest air quality monitor from PurpleAir, measuring real-time PM2.5 concentrations for residential, commercial, or industrial use. Containing a full-color LED, the resulting glow indicates real-time air quality at a glance and can be installed indoors or outdoors.

Question for future outreach: Would a daily update of the previous day's air quality and associated data be useful to you? Is this a feature you would like to see as an subscriber to VVAMP?

Give us feedback!

We are in development for an agile mobile version - or app - in which users can better view data and compare them via overlays.

What kind of data would you want to have on this feature?

We are considering expanding the local Purple Air Network to include Hasley Hills and Live Oak within 6 weeks. VVAMP has been keeping a record of residents in those neighborhoods who indicated that they would like to host a Purple Air monitor. If you are amenable to hosting a small air monitoring device on your property, send us a message!

Lots of updates today!

There was a woman at the VVCA meeting last night who had a valuable question that we want to address: She said that she had trouble accessing the Purple Air, weather and CarbonMapper data on the site while using her mobile phone.

Because approximately 70% of our site visitors use a mobile device, we are designing and constructing a stripped-down app to display live AQ conditions, with overlays of public AQ data, and the live ambient air meters. We also want to automate the daily data to update each morning to our subscribers.

The app will be free and we will do our best to include the neighborhoods outside of Val Verde, wherever we can include data.

We have a small development team in place and we will be updating you throughout the remainder of the year.

We have added a new page to accommodate data from air-grab sampling. We will continue to conduct air-grab sampling for EPA TO-15 method, as well as other testing throughout the 2023 year, per input from the Val Verde community.

You can access the results of the September 5, 2023 EPA method TO-15 sampling here. The air grab samples were taken during an odor event. The sample on Lincoln was taken at 8:38 AM and the sample on Cottage grove was taken at 9:35. Air grab samples are a near instantaneous grab of the air, essentially, a snapshot.

Access Google Sheets with a personal Google account or Google Workspace account (for business use).
