Vail Mountain Roller Mr. Mac here: For today’s Frug club meeting, a few members take in a relaxation break. Our big girl Gidget tries to get in on the chill vibes from the Frug club. We are excited to share after two years from her rescue Gidget has finally gained weight and seems much healthier. She was strangled as a puppy and hospitalized. Her brain does not work like most. She joined the team in March 2024 and it has been a struggle to get weight on her. However, she looks great now and seems content. She just goes to the beat of her own drummer, but really does try to please. Atta Girl - Gidge. She does know her name.

Vail Mountain Roller Mr. Mac here: Maximus went on his first adventure that included lots of unknowns. We went to the Vail Farmer’s Market on Sunday. We thought it would be just lots of random people, venues, dogs, noises etc. It also included a huge thunder, wind, and hail storm right out of the gate. Luckily we snuck in the Vail Information center to duck out of the hail and were able to spend some time with Uncle Mark. Maximus was a bit nervous from all the new smells etc,but we got a quick photo to add to our collection. He was so good and handled it like a champ. We then ventured back out into the rain and found one of Max’s buddies at Kady's Kollars, Percy. He gained even more confidence from his big headed pal. They hung out for a bit and people watched. He was really into the food vendors that is where he really shined. Ha! He did absolutely wonderful. We are proud of you Max!

Vail Mountain Roller Mr. Mac here: We had a request for an update on our boy Tuff. He has been doing amazing. He scoots around faster than most people can walk. Once he finishes his breakfast he is the first one to scoot so fast to find his buddies and enjoy play time. He loves to play with the other members and his toys. He loves blankets. He is incredibly happy and his enthusiasm carries over to the others. He joined the team in April 2024. Reminder he was shot as a 10 week old puppy and left paralyzed in his rear legs. The bullet remains lodged in his spinal cord area and can not be removed. He is not a candidate for wheels nor does he even like them. He is not able to survive any type of surgery. And this is his life. And that is okay. We are thrilled that he is so content. He is not in pain and probably one of the happiest dogs ever. We will take it.

Vail Mountain Roller Mr. Mac here: Well I guess we must start referring our “French” club meetings to our “Frug” club meetings. That darn ole Pug has the best attendance of the group. As long as the snacks are plentiful and a warm body to snuggle -everyone is content.

Vail Mountain Roller Mr. Mac here: Can you see that our Jasper’s weight loss continues. He was just weighed and go ahead and take a guess at what he may be weighing today. Not as easy to see his whole body in this photo, but he was tired after his walk- ha! He started at 180 pounds at the shelter in May 2026. Let’s get those guesses in and he definitely has lost poundage.
