The Vail Homeowners Association is a private corporation, supported by a voluntary dues paying membership and affiliated financial, intellectual and political contributors. It functions as Vail's community improvement association. The Homeowners Association is unique to the Vail community. Community and town planning is at its core. It works to implement a collaborative vision, which is formed fro
m among the concerns and aspirations of its members and constituent interests. The Association monitors community institutions for the purpose of offering "constructive guidance" in a "non-official" role as an ombudsman or advocate on selected issues of mutual concern to Vail residential property owners. Entities monitored include the Town of Vail, Vail Resorts, other levels of governments, and organizations involved in community social, cultural, economic and development activities. The Association engages on a nonpartisan basis and advises across a broad spectrum of subjects many of which require the involvement of political institutions and private sector interests. It is a non-governmental organization (NGO) using both political and private sector entrepreneurial methods to carry out its agenda.
