This wonderful old hymn reminds us that no matter what is happening around us, Jesus is our hope. We serve a risen and living Savior. His death on the cross and resurrection gives us hope and eternal life. “Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen.”—Luke 24:5-6

Happy 59th Anniversary to our parents! Their dedication to each other and to their marriage is seen every day in the little things they do to help one another. They have loved each other faithfully all these years and we are grateful for their example. We pray God gives them many more years together. Today is our sweet daughter Bethany’s 55th birthday. We think about her every day and miss her tremendously. We are thankful for our time on earth with her and God’s promise that we will see her again.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. I drove to Oklahoma this week to attend the memorial service for my cousin, John Rice. Johnny was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. He loved the Lord and served him through music. He was always involved with the music ministries at his church. He had a tremendous sense of humor, loved his family, and his community. We spent time together growing up and became great friends as adults. I am looking forward to seeing him again in Heaven. Please pray for his sons and their families.

Happy Father’s Day to our Dad! His love language is food, he loves a good story, tells funny jokes, enjoys learning about history, cares for people, loves his family, and loves the Lord.
