✨ April Recap ✨
April was a powerful month of advocacy, awareness, healing, and community connection for SAVV. 💙
Throughout the month, our team had the privilege of participating in events that uplift survivors, educate our community, and honor victims throughout Solano County.
🌸 April 2 — We hosted our Easter Egg Resource Fair alongside incredible community partners who came together to provide resources and support to families in our community. With nearly 500 attendees, it was a beautiful day filled with connection, information, and joy.
💙 April 13 — We attended Pinwheels for Prevention in honor of Child Abuse Awareness Month, an impactful event hosted by Fairfield, CA Police Department and CASA of Solano County reminding us all of the importance of protecting and advocating for children.
✈️April 15- SAVV attended Travis Air Force Base Family Fun Fest. Our advocates had a blast connecting with the community and all the agencies present.
🫶 April 17 — SAVV held an Essentials Self-Care Giveaway featuring donated care bundles from United Church of God to support our clients with items centered around healing and self-care.
🕯 April 22 — We were honored to participate in National Crime Victims’ Rights Week hosted by the Solano county Solano County District Attorney's Office. During the event, SAVV’s Lead Family Advocate, Rosa, was one of the keynote speakers, as well as Tanya, Executive Director of Victims Empowerment Support Team VEST, as well as two courageous mothers who shared their experiences after losing their sons to violence. Their words served as a powerful reminder of why advocacy, support, and community matter.
🌏April 22 - SAVV was also invited to table at Solano Solano Community College Earth Day resource fair. The team enjoyed meeting all the amazing organizations who help keep our earth clean and the free plants!
🌟 April 23 — We attended SANE SART's Fueling the Frontline Breakfast, celebrating and recognizing individuals dedicated to supporting survivors and victims throughout our community.
🕊 April 24 — We stood alongside our community and The Children's Network of Solano County during Children's Memorial Flag Day to recognize the children lost to violence and abuse everywhere and within our community in Solano County. Their memories continue to remind us why this work matters.
🎗 April 28 — Our advocates joined other agencies from across Solano County at the Vallejo City Council meeting where April was officially recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. We were honored to stand alongside fellow advocates and community partners to receive the proclamation and continue bringing awareness to the importance of supporting survivors.
📚April 29- SAVV was present at Muzetta Thrower Adult Education Center's resource fair. We had an amazing time getting to know all the incredible buisnesses and organizations who were in attendence.
👖 April 29 — We partnered with members from FFPD's Special Victims Unit for our annual Denim Day event to raise awareness for Sexual Assault Awareness Month and stand in support of survivors everywhere. Thank you to the deputies who stopped by to say hi and to learn about denim day.
Thank you to every community partner, advocate, volunteer, survivor, and supporter who stood with us this month. Advocacy does not end when April does — and we remain committed to continuing this work every single day.
We hear you. We see you. We believe you. 💙
