Last Thursday SAVV hosted our annual Giving Tree Project Event ❤️ We successfully provided over 50 children in our program with their Christmas Wishes! This could not have been possible without the assistance of our AMAZING community and donors🤗. We would like to extend our gratitude to 1st Realty and Investment, Chief Solano 1851 (who also brought along our friend Santa 🎅🏽), SAVV’s board of directors, our staff, MC Survivors, Unity of the Valley Spiritual Center and Sonesta Hotel for providing the venue! More pictures to come as IG only allows 10 at a time 😊

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Survivors got together along side SAVV, FJC, & FFPD’s Special Victims Unit Domestic Violence Program Manager, Lilia Breaux, this month to join the to decorate t-shirt cut outs to represent the impact of domestic and sexual violence in our community. On these t-shirts Survivors and Advocates demonstrated their support by painting positive affirmations to remind victims they are not alone and there is someone here to turn to.
1 in 4 women & 1 in 6 men will experience some form of domestic abuse in their lives. No one deserves to be in this position. The cycle of violence needs to be broken! Believe survivors! Educate yourself on domestic violence. Speak out against all forms of violence!

We are thrilled to be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in a unique way! SAVV is co-hosting its first Karaoke to End Violence fundraisers, where all proceeds will fund emergency housing services for domestic violence survivors. A fun fact you may not know is that SAVV is the 1stLatina founded Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault agency in the region with fully bilingual staff. At this event, we will highlight Latina business leaders co-sponsoring our event prizes and venues and successful Latina survivor stories while having fun challenging each other to sing our favorite Karaoke songs and play Loteria.

It is the first time this type of event has been held in our region, and your support could make a world of difference to us and those we serve.
