Vaca Fish Has A Very Successful Thanksgiving Food Basket Event!

On Saturday, November 22, 2014, Vaca Fish, with the help of donors, volunteers, and partner organizations, provided enough free groceries to provide a Thanksgiving dinner feast to hundreds of needy Vacaville families.

Accomplishing this task required volunteers to arrive at Bethany Lutheran Church on S. Orchard Avenue Friday night to organize and assemble hundreds of grocery bags. They returned early Saturday morning to accept donated turkeys and pies and to distribute the food to families.

Hundreds of turkeys were gratefully received from members of the Vacaville Iron Steed Chapter #2419 of the Harley Owners Group, and The Solano Chapter of Unico National.

Vacaville residents donated hundreds of pies. Most made the easy bake and take ‘Impossible Pumpkin Pie’ recipe printed in the Vacaville Reporter.

Vaca Fish also coordinated with Anheuser-Busch volunteers the delivery of food to dozens of additional families.

Vaca Fish would also like to recognize Boy Scout Troop 332 and Cub Scout Pack 191 for their collection and delivering of hundreds of grocery bags of donated food to Vaca Fish.

And and big thank you is due to the dozens of anonymous Vacans who have shown up at the Fish office with bags of food. These groceries will be distributed needy Vacaville families who come to the Vaca Fish Monday through Friday for the upcoming holidays.
