Luv Ya Uvalde Organization Luv Ya Uvalde Organization; by way of an Annual Thanksgiving Dinner for the needy, a Christmas party & gift distribution to the needy children of Uvalde

The tradition began in 1983 it was founded by Tommy and Pat Flores. They volunteered at the Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner and thought this would be nice to have a hot Thanksgiving Dinner for Senior Citizens of Uvalde and surrounding towns. It started with maybe 20 volunteers and served 100 people that first year. The dinner just grew and grew, the 20th year was the last that their family part

icipated in. Genoveva Cobarrubia took over in 2003, with the help of Vic Hilderbran, daughter, Charlene Cobarrubia, and daughter-in-law, Leticia Hdz Cobarrubia. In 2010 Leticia and her Hernandez family took over. We have established an organization now and have over 20 members and growing each year. Our dream is to be able to help people in need all year long, not just for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We are very thankful to everyone that donates/volunteers, without them we wouldn't be able to help others.

Starting this Saturday, November 8th, e will be offering free meals for children in need. We understand how challenging it can be for families, especially with the recent changes to SNAP benefits.
This effort is dedicated to our beloved parents/ grandparents, Tomas and Paulina Hernandez. Although we grew up with very little, we were never without food, and there was always enough to share with extended family and even strangers. Their example of generosity and kindness continues to inspire us to give back to our community. ❤️

Luv Ya Uvalde Thanksgiving Luncheon

We’re so excited to continue this special tradition of giving thanks together as a community! 🧡

Join us for our annual Thanksgiving luncheon on Wednesday, November 26th at the Willie De Leon Civic Center.

Doors open: 10:00 AM
Serving time: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM

This event is open to everyone in our community, we welcome you to come share a meal, good company, and lots of love!

For our elderly and disabled community members who are homebound, we are offering meal delivery. Please fill out the Homebound Delivery Form (linked below) to register.
