The Thomas Lindsey Foundation, in partnership with the City of Utica, NY Police Department, was proud to host this year’s Shop with a Cop event at the North Utica Walmart. More than 100 local children were paired with a Utica Police Officer who volunteered their time to help guide them through their holiday shopping. Walmart graciously welcomed the event in-store and provided food and refreshments for both the children and the officers.

To help fund this year’s effort, Utica Police officers participated in “No Shave November,” continuing into “Don’t Shave December.” Chief Williams temporarily relaxed grooming standards, allowing officers to donate in lieu of shaving. Their combined contributions raised $4,300, which was donated to the Thomas Lindsey Memorial Foundation to support Shop with a Cop.

A special thank-you goes out to First Source Bank and Chris Stever with Motoworld for their exceptionally generous donations. We would also like to thank Nazzy Deloach with 4K Creative Studios, LLC for capturing this wonderful event.

Still looking for sponsors for what we hope to be Utica’s Premier Golf Tournament being held at the new and improved Valley View Golf Course sponsored by Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram of Utica. All donations will help fund programs for children in the Utica area.
