Yesterday was a great day at Jefferson Elementary school in Utica 🖤❤️! Backyard Hope attended their family carnival day where students, staff and parents got to connect with various agencies and businesses in our area 💛.

We handed out hundreds of toothbrushes 🪥 , school supplies 📚 and of course some sweet treats 🍭. Events like this not only connect the community, but allow families to know where they can go for support, build a relationship with the school and learn more about what their hometown has to offer. Sometimes everything you need is right in your own backyard 😉.

Thank you for having us Jefferson! Great job to the faculty and staff for organizing such a fun and meaningful event. It was a beautiful day ☀️. We hope to see you all again next year. 🫶🏽

SCHOOLS, NONPROFITS & COMMUNITY AGENCIES! One of the biggest parts of Backyard Hope's mission is making sure the organizations working directly with our community have the essentials they need to help the people they serve. 💙

If your **school district, nonprofit, agency, classroom, program or community organization** in Oneida or Herkimer County, is in need of items for your students, clients or families 📢 **please reach out!**

Maybe you need:
👕 Clothing or new socks
🧴 Hygiene & personal care products
🪥 Toothbrushes & toothpaste
🎒 Items for students
📦 Essentials to keep on hand for unexpected needs
❤️ Or something else your organization is struggling to provide

**Tell us what you need.** If we have it, we'll do our best to help. If we don't have it, knowing the needs of our community helps us determine what we should be collecting and asking our supporters for next. Request can take up to 7 business days as we are 100% volunteer base. Pick up or delivery options are available. WE ARE HERE AND HAPPY TO HELP.

👉 **Complete our Request for Assistance Form:**

Sometimes support isn’t something you can put in a bag. ❤️

At Backyard Hope, we provide period products, hygiene essentials, clothing, food and other basic necessities, but our mission goes beyond the items we distribute. We want students to know there is a safe place to turn when they need help.

We work alongside local schools to support education surrounding period care and personal hygiene, help break down embarrassment and stigma, and recognize that every student comes from a different home, culture and set of circumstances.

For some students, asking for a period product is uncomfortable. For others, conversations about personal hygiene may look very different at home. And sometimes a student simply needs a trusted adult who can quietly say, “We have what you need.” ❤️

Give today during **MV Gives** and help Backyard Hope make sure basic necessities are never out of reach for a local student.

Every donation matters. Every product matters.

What does dignity mean to you? ❤️

Maybe it’s starting your day feeling clean.
Having deodorant when you need it.
Being able to brush your teeth.
Having shampoo, soap, feminine hygiene products or other basic necessities at home.

For many of us, these are everyday items we rarely think twice about.

For some local students, they aren't always guaranteed. Give dignity. Give confidence. Give hope. ❤️ Give today: https://www.givemv.org/organizations/backyard-hope-inc

During Mohawk Valley Gives, your donation helps us continue putting these essentials directly into the hands of young people in our own community.

Imagine being a student worried about your shoes instead of your schoolwork. A pair of sneakers might seem like a small thing—until you're the child who needs them.

Backyard Hope has recently worked with Chet and his team at City of Utica Youth Bureau in giving away new panda dunk sneakers 👟 to students in their aftercare program.

We want kids feeling comfortable & confident! Your MV Gives donation helps us say “yes” when a student needs help.

Because every kid deserves to walk a little taller. 💙
