A commemorative walk was held in memory of victims of the Srebrenica genocide in 1995, in which more than 8,372 civilian men and boys were killed.

We would like to thank all of our sponsors and volunteers for making this event happen and showing the world that we are not victims, but survivors and winners.

The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members. This community will not be a good place for any of us unless we make it a good place for all of us, and we must be the change we wish to see in the world.

We are not put on this earth for ourselves, but are placed here for each other. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men.
We should never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.

Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.

A leader is best when people barely know he exists, when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, their people should say: WE did it.

Leaders instill in their people a hope for success and a belief in themselves. Positive leaders empower people to accomplish their goals. If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.

The first law of leadership is that your foundation is built through integrity, character, and trust.
A leader knows their work and purpose is not about them, but their people.

We would like to thank our community leaders who continue to be involved in their communities.

We hope that you felt this event was not about us, but our people. Our goal always was and always will be our people. We thank you all for your support in bringing awareness to the Srebrenica genocide; may it never happen again to anyone!

Coming together is just a beginning. The best way to predict the future is to create it together!
Individually, we are one drop, but together we are a powerful ocean. There is great beauty and strength in unity. We are not victims, we are survivors; and together we have, we are, and we will overcome any evil that comes our way.

We would like to thank the community for coming out to pay their respects to the 8372 lives that were taken during the Srebrenica genocide on July 11, 1995.

We honor those who are no longer with us, the survivors who fought so that we live to be here today, and those who continue to fight for justice.

By bringing awareness to our experiences, our goal is to stay vigilant and prevent this atrocity from ever happening again.. to anyone.

Željeli bismo zahvaliti zajednici što je došla da oda počast za 8372 života koja su oduzeta tokom genocida u Srebrenici 11. jula 1995. godine.

Odajemo počast onima koji više nisu s nama, preživjelima koji su se borili da preživimo da bismo danas bili ovdje i onima koji se i dalje bore za pravdu.

Podizanjem svijesti o našim iskustvima, naš cilj je da ostanemo na oprezu i spriječimo da se ova grozota ikada ponovi... bilo kome.

We would like to make a brief post as it has been a long day of preparations and it is late. These are just a few pictures from todays Srebrenica memorial walk. We are very proud of our community and would like to thank everyone for coming out. We will have some additional posts tomorrow and go over the extensive list of businesses and individuals that came together to make this happen, as well as local government officials who came to pay their respects to the victims of the genocide.
