Tucker Alexander was awarded the Sara Shomaker Scholar Grant, and Aubrey Richards received the Evelyn Lewis Scholar Grant.

Last evening, Jenna Hochanadel was honored as the 2026 Utica LaSertoma Youth Service Award recipient. Jenna, a student at Johnstown-Monroe High School, has demonstrated outstanding dedication to service and her community, making her truly deserving of this recognition.

In addition, the Utica Sertoma Service to Mankind Award for 2026 was presented to Randy Whisner. His commitment, leadership, and continued contributions have made a lasting impact, exemplifying the spirit of service this award represents.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to serve at the Utica Food Pantry. The crew there dedicates so much time and effort to making it a welcoming and well-run resource for our community — we’re simply happy to lend a hand.

Special thank-you to Lynn who came and helped us too!

We also learned today that coffee and sugar are among the least donated items. If you’re looking for a simple way to help, consider adding those to your next donation. Every little bit makes a difference. ☕️💛

⭐️ Calling all Utica, Northridge or Johnstown High School Students, Utica LaSertoma is searching for Youth Service Award recipients.

⭐️ Designed to seek out youth who are setting a pattern of leadership and service in their local communities and to recognize and reward these efforts.

⭐️ The forms are available in the high school guidance office.

Applications are due February 13th!

Utica LaSertoma Scholar Grant Opportunities

Utica LaSertoma is pleased to offer two scholar grants in the amount of $1,250.00 each:

• Sarah Shomaker Scholar Grant
• Evelyn Lewis Scholar Grant

The recipient of the Sarah Shomaker Scholar Grant will also be submitted to the LaSertoma International Scholarship Committee for consideration of an additional scholarship.

These scholar grants are not based solely on grade point average. Academic achievement, community service, scholarships, and financial need will all be considered in the selection process.
