TEAM JEN was founded in July 2011 by a group of young women who centered their sisterhood and friendship through the amazing bond of Christ to support their dear friend and sister, Jennifer Yatuoma, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2008. Since Jennifer’s diagnosis, she has used the disease as her teacher, rather than her crutch. She has remained positive, become an amazing role model, and continue

s to be generous and compassionate to those in need throughout the community. This foundation is a way to reach out to friends and families who have been affected by such a terrible disease. The word CANCER should never scare anyone; it should ONLY make them stronger. Team Jen hopes to be the army of support for others. Just as soldiers go in to face their battle and put their lives out on the line for others, so too, will we go in and help others face and take on their battle with cancer. No war has been victorious through one person alone. It takes an army to overcome your opponent. And that’s what we’re determined to do.

Taking notes and crying….

January can feel heavy.

The holidays end, the noise fades, and the world expects us to move on but grief doesn’t follow a calendar. For many, January is when the loss feels louder, when the quiet settles in and the ache shows up in new ways.

If you’re grieving this month, know this. You are not behind. You are not weak. You are not doing it wrong. Grief has no timeline and healing is not linear.

Be gentle with yourself. Rest when you need to. Cry if it comes. Smile when it surprises you. Honor your loss in whatever way feels right for you.

And if January feels especially hard, you are not alone 🤍
