🚗💥 Get Ready for the MDOT Rover Simulation Program! 💥🚗

The Jackson-Hinds Library System is excited to welcome the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) for its interactive Rover Simulation Program as part of our 2026 Summer Reading Program: Unearth A Story!

This engaging program gives children and families an opportunity to learn about the importance of vehicle safety, transportation, and the physics behind car crashes without seatbelts.

Thank you Mississippi Fire Fighter's Association & Mississippi Fire Chiefs Association for having a beautiful memorial service for our fallen firefighters this past year. Utica VFD-Late Chief Mullins, Bench VFD-Dexter Noel, Raymond VFD-Jack Hite, West Hinds VFD-Willie Jefferson were all memorialized this morning.

🚑 It’s National EMS Week! 🚑

This week, we honor the dedicated EMS professionals who answer the call every day with skill, compassion, and care.

Many of our volunteers are certified EMS professionals who invested their own time and money to serve our community — and that dedication does not go unnoticed.

We also want to thank the crews at AMR Central Mississippi for the ambulance services they provide throughout Hinds County and for the care they deliver when our citizens need it most. ❤️

Join us in thanking all EMS professionals who make a difference when every second counts.

On behalf of every EMT, Paramedic, and support member that serves our communities, we are humbled today to receive the Hinds County Board of Supervisors' proclamation, recognizing May 17-23, 2026 as Emergency Medical Services Week. 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, these professionals are bringing healthcare directly to our citizens and impacting lives each and every day.
