Fuerza at Utica College

Fuerza at Utica College FUERZA was founded at Utica College in 2011 by the returning e-board of what used to be the Latin American Student Union.

Through adversity, we overcame many obstacles that lead to the reincarnation of a growing organization for the Latino population. Before Fuerza was born, we were know as the Latin American Student Union (LASU). After overcoming hardships and enduring a hiatus for the organization, the executive board and remaining members gathered and agreed to make a change. We integrated with all things Fuerza t

o become an organization with better organization, professionalism and determination to thrive beyond our expectations. We the members of Fuerza Latina have come together to fulfill a common need to share our rich Latino/a heritage and to unite all of our Latino brothers and sisters in a mutual bond. As members, we propose to promote, supervise, and coordinate all relevant activities in regards to our student population, diversity, professionalism and leadership attributes to all interested parties at Utica College and the surrounding areas. These activities are defined as being cultural, social, and educational. Our goal is to work diligently, through these activities toward the advancement and upliftment of our Latino population. United by a common language, this organization will provide leadership and representation for the Latino student population. We are an organization run by students, for students and seek not only to survive but to strive forward.
