Professional Operator We're Raising the Standards for Water Treatment Safety through the Professional Operator Designation.

Professional Operator (PO) is the designation awarded by C2EP to certified water environment industry operators signifying they have met the most rigorous standards of their profession. To earn the PO title, operators must pass the relevant C2EP certification exam and meet specific education and job experience requirements. C2EP’s Professional Operator program offers certification in the disciplin

es of water treatment, distribution, collection, and wastewater treatment. Each of these certification types consists of four levels of certification ranging from Class I to Class IV, with Class IV reflecting the highest level of job complexity and requirements. All PO certifications are based on North American water environment operator job task analyses.
