The flagship event for the Foundation is just two weeks away - Aug. 27 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the Buzzard Billy's parking lot, downtown Des Moines.
We know we have a job to do - raise the funds needed to keep our scholars in school for the upcoming academic year. And we're going to have a lot of fun while we do it! Starting now!
This year we are using a mobile bidding system for our Silent Auction. Whether you plan to attend the Auction in person, or support the Foundation from the comfort of your home, you can bid on the Silent Auction items & purchase scholarships to support our students in Belize all from your mobile phone.
Want to get a head start on the event? Here's how:
1. Head on over the Apple App or Google Play store & download "Handbid" app for iPhone or Android.
2. Once installed, open the app & click "Get Started."
3. Once you complete your profile, you will be sent a 5 digit code to enter and log in.
4. After you enter this code, you will be taken to a list of auctions. Search & select "Keeping Our Scholars in School" and make sure you tell Handbid you want to bid, rather than just browse.
How does the app work?
1. Once you are no the auction page, just swipe left to enter the auction.
2. After you are in, you will be on the "Dashboard" where you can see what items you are winning or losing.
3. Swipe left or right to view the items in each category. Just tap on an item to view it's details.
4. Placing your bid is easy - just hit "Bid Now."
5. If you want to see who is bidding against you or get more details on the item, just pull down on the item page.
6. Handbid will also tell you when you've been outbid so you can increase your bid from the item page or, you can go back to the Dashboard and increase your bid from there as well.
Sick of being outbid? Try placing a Max Bid.
Want to guarantee you get an item? Buy it now!
