Hygiene Pantry of Champaign County CLU-W Hygiene Pantry of Champaign County was founded to address rising costs and needs for basic care items.

We provide free hygiene essentials and accept donations of period products, adult diapers, soap, shampoo, conditioner, laundry supplies, and more.

Even small gifts can help purchase high-need items like body wash, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, menstrual products, toilet paper, paper towels, and adult diapers after busy pantry days. This week’s focus is body care!

We are collecting full-sized body wash, bar soap, deodorant, lotion, razors, and shaving cream for the pantry. These everyday items help community members feel clean, comfortable, and confident.

Full-sized items are especially helpful because pantry visitors may come once per month, and larger products last longer.

Hosting a hygiene drive is a great way for workplaces, churches, schools, clubs, and community groups to support the pantry. Current high-need items include body wash, hair care products for all hair types, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper, menstrual pads and liners, and women’s or unisex adult diapers in all sizes. Full-size items are especially helpful because pantry visitors are asked to visit once per month.

Our Current Donation Drives! 🧼💛

✨ We’re grateful to the Urbana Police Department for hosting a month-long donation drive for the CLU-W Hygiene Pantry! Donations can be dropped off at 400 S. Vine St., Urbana, Monday to Sunday from 7 AM to 11 PM.

🧴 We’re also collecting full-sized hair and body care products to help keep our shelves stocked. Since pantry visitors may come once per month, full-sized items help supplies last longer for individuals and families.

🛒Most-needed items: body wash, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, lotion, and textured hair care products.

We'd also appreciate more household items, like cleaning supplies, hand and dish soap, laundry detergent, paper towels, and toilet paper.

You can also drop donations off during pantry hours in the lobby bin, or message us for other options.

Hair care is not one-size-fits-all. The pantry would love to have hair care products for all hair types. Items like moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, leave-in conditioner, curl cream, hair oil, edge control, wide-tooth combs, brushes, bonnets, and satin scarves can help community members care for their hair with dignity.

Hair care items are among the most requested at the pantry. We are collecting full-sized shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, brushes, combs, detangling spray, and other hair care products.

Having options matters. Your donation helps community members choose products that work best for their needs.

In May, we served 113 community members at the pantry, with over half of them returning users.

The data shows that hygiene support remains a real need, with 60% of visitors saying they would have to choose between hygiene items and other necessities if the pantry were not available.

Thank you to everyone who helps keep our shelves stocked and our community supported.
