Cancer Association of Champaign County Helping assist with the financial burden of cancer patients in Champaign County continues to be our focus. Click the link below for more info.

Our goal is to alleviate some stress & provide a better outcome as they go through these life changing events. In September, 1980 five directors of the Champaign County chapter of the American Cancer Society resigned their positions to form a new cancer agency dedicated to providing service to Champaign County, Ohio residents. All five directors felt that too little of the money collected from county residents was used to benefit local residents. Because of the dedication and commitment of these five, the Cancer Association of Champaign County was formed.

The need continues to grow, and so does the impact of the Cancer Association of Champaign County.

As of August 31, 192 local cancer patients are currently being served. Since our last update, 7 new patients have enrolled—and those numbers continue to climb as more people learn about the resources available right here in our community.

Here’s what your support has helped provide:
⛽ 79 patients received fuel assistance totaling $4,275
💊 8 patients received prescription assistance totaling $762.86
🏥 Medical bills were paid for 9 patients, totaling $2,734.50
❤️ Assistance for approximately 32 patients totals $5,384.25
🥤 Nutritional supplements were provided to 2 patients totaling $420
🩺 Supplies were provided to 2 patients totaling $107
That brings the total client expenditures to $13,683.61 through August 31, 2026.

The word is spreading. Our client list continues to grow, and as services at the Urbana treatment center expand, so does the need for support.

Thank you to every donor, volunteer, fundraiser, business, and community member who continues to show up for us. Your support isn't just a donation—it is helping provide assistance to local people when they need it most.

Pap’s Labor Day Bash Gives Back to Champaign County Cancer Association.

The 6th Annual Pap’s Labor Day Bash, hosted by Brian Manz and the Ratsville Hoodlums, was held Monday 9/7 at the Champaign County Fairgrounds, bringing together 408 registered vehicles and car enthusiasts from throughout the region.

While the event celebrated cars, trucks, motorcycles, semis and the car community, its greatest impact was giving back to those in need. This year, the Cancer Association of Champaign County received $1,500, while a local family battling cancer received more than $5,000.

“We may bring the toys, food, music and a whole lot of shenanigans, but the community brings the heart,” said Manz. “That’s what Pap’s Bash is really about — bringing people together to have a good time while making a difference in someone’s life.”

The Bash crew extends its appreciation to the sponsors, vendors, volunteers, donors, bidders and participants who helped make the event a success, particularly during its first year at the Champaign County Fairgrounds.

Special thanks go to Amy Jumper, who helped secure the venue and utilized her local business connections to bring together many of the event’s resources, as well as the Champaign County Fairgrounds staff for their assistance throughout the event.

The organizers expressed their gratitude to the entire car club community and everyone who came out to support the Bash and its charitable mission.

Well, look what happens when good food meets a good cause!

A HUGE thank you to our friends at MIXX 165 for their contribution to the Cancer Association of Champaign County! Their Good Eats Fundraiser brought in $582, and because we like nice, round numbers around here, we’re rounding that baby up to $600!

We appreciate the partnership, the generosity, and most importantly, your willingness to give back to the community.
Thank you for helping us support local families when they need it most!

Today we got to be part of the Lensman Golf Outing at Lakeland Golf Course! ⛳️

Mother Nature apparently wanted to play too because she brought the rain—and LOTS of it. After a delayed start, we finally got out there and showed that a little water wasn’t going to stop us from having a good time.
We finished strong, had a whole lot of fun, and most importantly, helped raise money for not one, but TWO amazing local charities!
