Hey Everyone,
I have been getting some questions about this year’s Hammerdown event. I am sorry to say that we will no longer be doing the Hammerdown Truck and Tractor Pull! As much as we love doing this event, it was taking a lot of time away from our families.
I would like to say that I am proud of the shows that we put on the last six years, but I am even more proud of the people we have helped along the way. WE have donated nearly $60,000 to the March of Dimes and families in need of help! All of you were a part of that and I am so thankful and proud of our community.
To the pullers: thank you, thank you, thank you!! We had some of the best competitors in the country come to Champaign County and put on fantastic shows each year! You stuck with us through the rain outs the first few years and you kept coming back. People don’t always get to see that caliber of vehicles in our area and we are so grateful that ya’ll traveled the miles that you did to come to our event.
I sent out a separate letter to the sponsors a couple of weeks ago and I hope I did not miss anyone. If I did, I sincerely apologize! WE have had so many people help us these last six years and I don’t want to miss anyone. Without the sponsors, this event does not happen.
These past 6 years have been nothing short of amazing for me and my family. Because of all of you, you have kept my Uncle Mike Walden’s name alive and on radio, billboards, shirts, signs, etc. I know most of you knew Mike and that is why you gave like you did. There is not a bigger compliment to my family, than showing the support the last six years like you all have done. It has been easier dealing with the loss over time and celebrating him, than just letting another person in this world leave us. There are a lot of negative things out there right now, but for the last six June or July’s, there was a buzz in Champaign County. Mike lived life to the fullest. He worked hard, played hard, and always found a way to give back to his family, friends, and community. You all have allowed us to keep doing that.
There were a lot of people that helped make this event successful and I hope you all know how much we appreciate you!! From the sponsors, pullers, sled operators, fans, vendors, everyone that helped at the fair grounds and of course the ones that were involved in putting on the last 6 shows, my family and I thank you so much!!
Cheers,
Jared Little
