The VISION of Salt & Light is to see each person growing in their God-given potential. First and foremost, we are a ministry committed to sharing God’s love. We fight poverty each and every day. Not just material poverty, but also poverty of spirit and community. We rec

ognize that each of us is broken and in need of healing. We fight all levels of poverty with opportunities that empower people. We believe God has granted each person gifts and abilities that are valuable to our community. We long to see lasting change in each person who walks through our doors. This could be a newfound sense of worth, a full-time job that provides financially, an expanded sense of compassion for mankind, or a renewed identity in Christ.

We have been listening, learning, and healing together in our Hope & Healing group. We wrote this lament together to process our grief and pain and felt God meet us in it. We are thankful for The Trauma Healing Institute's Anchored in Hope curriculum and the community that feels safe and loving to support us on this healing journey.

Oh God! You are all knowing and loving.

Why do you let children die?
Why do you let people hurt us?
Why do you let the world be the way it is today?
Why is there so much suffering and pain?

People don’t ask to be hurt.
Children are innocent.

Help us to learn to live and accept life now.
Help us find a way to help others see right from wrong and find You, God.
Heal our broken hearts and pain.

We believe and trust in You God and You will make us stronger.
We believe you’ll bring fruit from this.
