Join Shelter Medicine Club & Behavior Club for a lunch lecture TODAY in BSB 2251! We’re excited to welcome the behavior specialist from the Champaign County Humane Society, who will be speaking about behavioral evaluations and how euthanasia decisions are made in an open-admission shelter. Those who are receiving food were already notified but we will have some extras and all are welcome!

Thank you to everyone who made it to our Bunny Bonanza week! It was great to see so many people interested in rabbit medicine, surgery and rescue. We hope you learned a ton!

Event Announcement: BUNNY BONANZA 2025 on 10/20-10/25!

This is the second annual Bunny Bonanza. This year the event was co-organized by Shelter Med (ISCASV) & NTS in an effort to increase awareness for companion rabbit welfare, rescue, and health. We are extremely fortunate to have numerous outstanding speakers volunteering their time to educate us and raise awareness for these animals so in need of advocacy and quality veterinary care. All profits will be donated to attending rabbit rescues.

Our first lunch lecture of the year will be with Dr. Capa speaking on high-quality high volume spay and neuter on Tuesday, Sept, 30th in LAC100 @12-1PM. This is great exposure for VM1-2 and additional reinforcement for VM3 heading into junior surgery!

An additional reminder for those attending the wet lab, you must attend the lecture and send in the $10 fee to attend the lab.

A huge thank you to the Great Lakes Pigeon Rescue for joining us for a lecture and handling lab last week! We were able to learn so much about pigeon breeds, common illnesses, proper handling, special needs care, and more. We received raving reviews and were even told that the event completely changed people's perspective on these birds!
