This week, some of our boys found out that sometimes, one of the best things we can do for our soul is step outside on a beautiful day and take a walk. A little sunshine and fresh air can help us slow down, clear our minds and find peace in the present moment. It was a gentle reminder that peace, joy and HOPE can be found in the little things.

Big wins for our amazing educators! Congratulations to Ms. Deb and Ms. Evelyne, who each received a $250 grant through the CUSchoolsFoundation!

Ms. Deb will be bringing new and improved microscopes into her classroom, giving students an even closer look at the world around them.

Ms. Evelyne will be adding 3D pens to her classroom, opening the door to creative thinking, hands-on learning and exciting new possibilities!

That’s a wrap on our first Cup of Joe with the CEO!

A BIG thank-you to everyone who joined us this morning for our Guardian Parent event with coffee, donuts, conversation, and a little time with Marlin! We loved getting to slow down, connect, and share a few laughs with the people who make Cunningham so special.

Our guests got a first sneak peek at what we’ve been brewing up next at Cunningham! We can’t spill all the details just yet, but let’s just say… something exciting is on the horizon!

To our Guardian Parents, your generosity makes a real difference in the lives of the kids we serve, and we’re so grateful to have you in our corner.

Our boys had a wild time on their fall break field trip to the Bloomington Zoo! From seeing amazing animals to making memories with their peers and staff, it was a day full of smiles, laughter and a little adventure. We love seeing our kids enjoy new experiences, explore the world around them and simply have fun being kids!

At Cunningham, we believe every person deserves to feel seen, valued and accepted for who they are. We’re proud to celebrate the love, inclusion and community that make us stronger together.

Each month, we love taking time to note our employees’ work anniversaries because the people behind our mission deserve to be celebrated!

This month, we’re especially proud to recognize 9 team members celebrating 10 or more years at Cunningham Children’s Home, including two who have been part of the Cunningham family for an incredible 28 years! The number goes up if we include 5 or more years! ❤️

Longevity like this speaks volumes about the commitment, compassion and pride our employees bring to their work every day. Whether it's those pictured below, Samantha who has served as a Para Focus at CIRCLE Vermillion for 10 years, Ryan who has been our Supply Clerk for 18 years, Shannon who has been a member of our HR/Training team for 13 years or others, their dedication helps create a place where youth and families find hope, encouragement and the opportunity to thrive.

To each of our team members celebrating a work anniversary this month, thank you for being part of the Cunningham family. We’re so grateful for you and the difference you make!

For the enjoyment of the residents, artwork by our Ge**er and CIRCLE Academy students is on display at ClarkLindsey throughout the month of October! We’re so proud of our students and excited for others to see their creativity shine. Visitors are welcome to stop by and enjoy the exhibit! Just check in at the front desk when you arrive, and they’ll direct you to the artwork!

Young adults from our Transitional Living (TL) and Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) programs recently participated in an onsite car education group with Cunningham Motor Sales in Urbana. Cunningham Motor Sales is a family-owned business that has served the community for over 50 years. Owner Shannon shared that he has worked with our young adults in the past and enjoys teaching them the basics of purchasing a used vehicle.

During the group, each young adult selected a vehicle that interested them and had the opportunity to explore the car’s interior, look under the hood and learn more about its features and condition. This hands-on experience helped build their knowledge and confidence in evaluating a used vehicle and understanding the car-buying process.

We are grateful to Shannon and Cunningham Motor Sales for their continued support and commitment to helping our young adults develop important life skills as they work toward independence.
