There is something incredibly meaningful about hearing from someone who has been where you are.

Recently, the young adults in our Transitional Living program welcomed Josh, a former Cunningham client who shared his journey before, during and after his time in our care. Now 37, Josh's honest conversation with our young adults offered valuable perspective on overcoming challenges, building independence and creating a future filled with possibilities.

Moments like these are a powerful reminder that growth continues long after a young person leaves our programs. Seeing someone who once sat in their shoes doing well provides encouragement, motivation and a tangible example of what can be achieved.

Thank you Josh for returning to share your story, invest in the next generation and remind our young adults that brighter days are ahead!

Whether it's waving in the wind or printed on your favorite T-shirt, the American flag is a symbol of a nation founded on freedom, hope, and opportunity.

At Cunningham, we're reminded that symbols matter. They bring people together, tell stories and help create a sense of belonging. That's why we love seeing the trees at our Transitional Living houses decorated throughout the year to celebrate holidays and special occasions. Each decoration reflects the diversity of traditions, experiences and hopes that make our community stronger.

Today, as we recognize , we celebrate not only the flag itself but also the values of unity, hope and caring for one another that it represents.

Here is a truly epic photo from a recent celebration. Epic not just because of the pose or the incredible staff turnout—but because of what it represents.

When a young person moves on from Cunningham, it is our tradition for them to walk the labyrinth. A labyrinth is often used as a symbol of life's journey. The path isn't always straight. There are twists, turns, moments of uncertainty, and times when it feels like you're moving away from your destination rather than toward it. But if you stay on the path, you eventually reach the center—and then begin the journey back out, stronger and wiser than before.

This young person navigated his own challenges, stayed the course and reached an important milestone. Along the way, they were supported by caring staff who walked beside him, encouraged him and celebrated every step forward.

May we all remember that even when the road twists and turns, progress is still progress. Keep moving forward.

Ms. Evelyne's art class kicked off summer school with a creative challenge: students used just a few simple materials to create mini sculptures that represented something unique about themselves. Through their artwork, they shared their interests, personalities and stories in imaginative ways. The flower with white petals is symbolic of one student's memories of gardening with his grandma. The other flower represents another student's personality...bright!
