The CU Folk and Roots Festival is a non-profit organization. Our mission is to; Promote a feeling of community, create a nonpartisan and inclusive event that gathers together participants from diverse backgrounds and beliefs, gather the energy and dedication of local folk organizations and artists into a single celebration, promote and increase access to the folk arts, contribute to the artistic v

itality of the area, bring attention and business to downtown Urbana, attract tourism to the greater Champaign-Urbana area, expose and involve residents to varied and exciting forms of arts and expression, and, last but not least, provide opportunities for focused and quality social interactions. We love our Summer music series with Urbana Park District!

Swing by The Lake House In Crystal Lake Park from noon-1pm on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of June, July and August for free live music!

Folk and Roots Fridays are in full swing! First and third Fridays this summer. On June 19th, we'll have Two and a Third. See you there!

The Folk & Roots Fridays series at The Lake House In Crystal Lake Park starts up soon! Join us for FREE noon-1pm music on the first and third Fridays of the month through the Summer!

Summer means Folk & Roots Fridays with the CU Folk and Roots Festival at The Lake House In Crystal Lake Park! We have free live music on the 1st and 3rd Fridays this summer at Noon. Bring your lunch and start the weekend with great tunes! See you June 5th!

The 18th annual CU Folk & Roots Festival will be held Thursday, October 8 through Saturday, October 10!

If you were at our Winter Weekend event earlier this month, you may have heard us announce our festival dates to be the previous weekend. The festival has decided to move our dates forward by one week, so as to not conflict with the UIUC Homecoming 2026.

Mark (or re-mark!) your calendars! Can’t wait to see you October!

❤️Thanks so much to our hosts , all the amazing musicians, Frank and Jimmie on sound, our awesome volunteers and most importantly, all of you for packing the place to have a dang good time and support CU Folk and Roots!

With your generosity, we raised over $2,000 to help us throw another fun and talented-filled festival this fall in downtown Urbana 🤩.

Winter Weekend 2026 starts tonight at ! 🎻

✨Kicking off the weekend with Americana Happy Hour ft Anxious Bench from 5-7pm followed by those Dusty Ramblers from 8-10pm with more fun to come all weekend long!

No cover. The buckets will be going around to help support our 2026 festival! 🎶

I think we've had our fill of the chill here in Central IL 🥶 and are ready for a great upcoming weekend of warm vibes, great music and good folks at the Rose Bowl Tavern to benefit our upcoming 2026 Festival! 🔥
