📢 Important Update

We would like to let everyone know that we will be closed on Thursday, June 25, for employee training.

Providing our team with thorough training helps ensure we can offer the best possible care for all of our cats. We appreciate your understanding as we invest in our staff and the well-being of our feline residents.

We will resume normal business hours on Friday, June 26, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Stop by and visit the cats—they would love to see you! 🐾❤️

We posted yesterday about a dog that was dumped at our cat-only shelter on Sunday evening. We are attaching the video in hopes that someone may be able to identify the vehicle involved.

Unlike the recent cat dumping incident, this situation is not as obvious on video. The dog does not appear on any footage prior to this vehicle entering our parking lot. After watching the video, you'll notice the dog appears familiar with the vehicle and/or the individuals involved.

We will also post another video in the comments that briefly shows one of the individuals involved.

Our team has been working hard to safely catch and secure him. He seems friendly but is VERY nervous and understandably scared.

We know the video quality isn't perfect, but it is the best footage available at this time.

Any information you may have about the vehicle, the individuals, or the dog would be greatly appreciated. Please share this post to help us reach as many people as possible.

We hate to ask for help again so soon, but we could use your help.

It was brought to our attention last night that a dog was running through our parking lot. Unfortunately, our cameras were unable to capture the individual responsible for dumping him. Based on the footage we do have, we believe the vehicle involved may have been an older white Dodge Durango.

The dog is an intact male wearing an orange collar. We have made several attempts to catch him without success, but we have a plan in place to try again tomorrow.

We know the pictures aren't great, but they are the best images we are able to provide at this time. If you recognize this dog or have any information that could help identify him or his owner, please reach out to us.

As a CAT-ONLY facility, this situation is very different from the one we dealt with earlier. We simply do not have the proper space or resources to house a dog if we are able to catch him.

Once again, the lack of human responsibility toward animals is absolutely heartbreaking. Our main priority right now is getting him to safety.

Thank you to everyone who has already reached out, shared information, and helped us try to keep this dog safe. We are incredibly grateful for your support and hope that tomorrow brings a safe outcome for him.

🎉 UPDATE 🎉

Thank you so much to everyone who shared our post, reached out, and helped spread the word. Thanks to the incredible support of our community, the two individuals in the video have been identified.

🚨 HELP IDENTIFY THESE INDIVIDUALS 🚨

We are reaching out to our community to see if anyone recognizes the individuals shown in the attached video.

Earlier today, this cat was abandoned at our shelter. As you can see in the video, these individuals made no attempt to speak with any of our staff members. Instead, they left the cat outside in the hot sun and drove away.

Thankfully, someone contacted our shelter manager shortly afterward. Had they not done so, there's no telling how long this cat may have been left sitting outside before a staff member noticed.

This type of behavior is completely unacceptable.

As a rescue that is already operating at full capacity, situations like this place an additional strain on our resources as we work to provide safe housing and care for yet another cat in need.

We do everything we can to support our community and help reduce cat overpopulation. We offer spay/neuter clinics and work closely with the Champaign County TNR program to assist with the stray and feral cat population. We understand that people sometimes face difficult situations, but abandoning cats is never the answer.
