🇺🇬🤝🇺🇸 A Historic Conversation at the American Center, Kampala

On 30th June 2026, Prince Nicholas Basamula joined a high-level panel discussion at the American Center in Kampala — an event hosted by the U.S. Embassy in partnership with Uganda’s Ministry of Internal Affairs to commemorate 250 years of American freedom.

Held under the theme “Historical Encounter, Modern Diplomacy: Lessons from Roosevelt’s Uganda Visit,” the panel brought together diplomats and scholars to reflect on more than a century of Uganda–U.S. relations and the enduring power of cultural diplomacy.

Representing Uganda and the Buganda Kingdom, the Prince called for deeper bilateral cooperation across education, cultural diplomacy, environmental conservation, and technological innovation. He urged the United States to support health education, conservation, and innovation initiatives through collaboration with the Ntongo Royal Foundation and the Kabaka Foundation, working with the Government of Uganda as they embark on the President Roosevelt Africa Trail.

The event also featured Chargé d’Affaires Mikael Cleverley (pictured), with Lady Diana, Princess Beatrice Nachwa, and Naava in attendance.

A Journey Through History, A Conversation for the Future.

Ntongo Royal Foundation is honored to partner with the U.S. Embassy Uganda, the Theodore Roosevelt Association, the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, and other distinguished institutions for this special panel discussion on President Theodore Roosevelt’s 1909 visit to Uganda and his encounters with the Buganda and Bunyoro Kingdoms.

We are especially proud that Prince Nicholas Basamula, representing the Buganda Kingdom and Ntongo Royal Foundation, will be among the featured speakers sharing insights on this remarkable chapter of our shared history and its relevance to modern diplomacy.

💧 A Legacy of Clean Water 💧
The Ntongo Royal Foundation is honored to announce a transformative partnership that will bring safe, clean drinking water to two remote villages in Mukono, Uganda: Mpungu and Wunga.
This project is made possible through the incredible generosity of Angela and Dennis Marshall of New Jersey,USA. The first water well will be built in loving memory of Dolores and Thomas Marshall, and the second in memory of Josie and Frank Speranze.
Their charitable legacy directly aligns with our mission to ensure access to clean water, which is fundamental for health, education, and community development. This gift will save lives and create a ripple effect of positive change for generations to come.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the Marshall and Speranze families for their commitment to a world where everyone has access to this basic human right.
