It’s not all running calls. There’s a lot that goes into keeping a Department running. Plumbing, electrical, mechanical, cleaning, etc. Some of it we pay someone else to do but most of it is done by members. If you see Chief Les Riehemann or Assistant Chief Kristy Ty Kennedy give them a huge thank you for the extra time they put in to keep things in tip top shape.

We would like to extend our gratitude to all of the wonderful people that have kept the Wildland Firefighters fed (three meals a day) over the last several days. You are an integral part of fighting fire too! Without you we wouldn’t have the energy to keep going. Plus, having a reason to take a break and eat is sometimes the best part of a hard fought shift. THANK YOU FOR VOLUNTEERING YOUR TIME SO WE CAN VOLUNTEER OURS MORE SUCCESSFULLY.

There will be a fire engine at the upton elementary school today from 1140 to 1300 (1pm) for the bobcat kids car show. Just so no one gets worried.

National EMS Week day 5: EMS Recognition Day. These individuals made a decision to serve their community in an incredibly selfless way. The training and education was hard but the real calls, real emotions, and real fatigue are harder. But, they wouldn’t have it any other way.
