If you have an interested student, we could use their help from about 8:00 - 10:15am this Saturday, October 3rd for the VFW Run to Remember 5k and Kids Fun Run. Students often bring something to have signed to evidence volunteer hours.

Here are some of the areas in which we could potentially use help:

- Kids registration table (8 - 9:30am);
- help lead stretching before fun run;
- placing course markers (cones) on baseball field for different age brackets;
- moving table down to ball field and setting up award display;
- moving inflatable tanks down to ball field;
- arranging goody bags on table for children; and
- stretching out a paper streamer for each child to break at the finish line.

We may also be able to use a few extra students to help stand on corners along the 5k route to ensure runners stay on course.

8:45am - volunteers head out to positions along 5k course
9am - 5k race / 2.25k walk start
9:45am - Kids Fun Run start
10:15am (approx.) - Fun Run concludes and 5k award ceremony begins

Please DM Upton VFW Post 5594 or Shawn Craig if interested in helping.

Today, Post 5594 recognizes two important observances in our nation’s military history.

🇺🇸 Happy Birthday to the United States Air Force! Since 1947, generations of Airmen have answered the call to defend our nation at home and around the world.

We also pause on National POW/MIA Recognition Day to honor America’s prisoners of war, remember those who remain missing, and stand with the families who continue to wait for answers.

You Are Not Forgotten.

Aim High — Fly-Fight-Win. 🇺🇸
