🚧 BIG NEWS FOR THINK LOCAL FIRST THURSDAYS! 🚧

Beginning with our July event and continuing through the remainder of the 2026 Think Local First Thursday season, portions of Downtown Upper Sandusky will be closed to vehicle traffic during the event to create a safer, more enjoyable experience for everyone attending.

This change comes directly from feedback we received from community members, families, vendors, and downtown businesses who expressed a desire for a more pedestrian-friendly environment during these increasingly popular events. We heard you—and we're excited to make it happen!
📍 Road Closure Area:
• Sandusky Avenue from Walker Street to Johnson Street
• Wyandot Avenue to the alley between Pfeifer Hardware and the Post Office
⏰ Important Timing:
• Food truck areas must be cleared of vehicles by 2:00 PM, as has been done previously.
• Road closures will begin at approximately 3:30 PM to allow for safe setup and barricade placement.
🚗 Good News!
Vehicles may remain parked in their usual downtown parking spaces throughout the event, provided they are outside of the designated closure perimeter. Only vehicles located within the closure area will need to be moved prior to 3:30 PM.

The growth and success of Think Local First Thursdays has been incredible to watch, and these closures will help create a safer atmosphere for families, children, pets, shoppers, and visitors while allowing everyone to fully enjoy everything downtown has to offer.

Thank you to our downtown businesses, event partners, and community members for your feedback, support, and enthusiasm. Your input helped make this possible, and we look forward to an even better First Thursday experience for the rest of the season!

See you downtown! 🎉

We recently made the decision to move the Wyandot Chamber from ChamberMaster/GrowthZone to ChamberHive, and it has been one of the best operational decisions we’ve made.

The platform is intuitive, efficient, and has completely transformed how we manage member data, invoicing, reporting, communications, and QuickBooks integration. What used to take extra steps now feels seamless.

But what has impressed me most isn’t the software—it’s the people behind it.

Every question has been answered quickly. Every challenge has been met with a solution. The support has felt personal, hands-on, and genuinely invested in our success.

A huge thank you to Furkan, Sharon, Alex, and the entire ChamberHive team for making this transition so smooth. It’s rare to find a company that combines great technology with even better customer service, and ChamberHive has done exactly that.

If you’re part of a Chamber and considering a CRM change, they’re absolutely worth a look. Find them here: ChamberHive.com

Leadership Wyandot continued this week with our sixth session—a powerful day focused on Infrastructure & Industry: Growth, Opportunity, and Community.

We began the morning with an inspiring session led by Mark Albert, whose remarkable career has included roles as a teacher, pastor, college professor, and even a trainer under legendary coach Woody Hayes. Mark challenged our class to explore the concept of emotional intelligence and reflect on how our life experiences shape who we are as leaders. Through thoughtful discussion and self-reflection, participants gained valuable insight into understanding themselves and others more effectively.

Our class then toured Kimmel Corporation, a company celebrating an incredible 95 years in business. As a fourth-generation family-owned company, Kimmel’s story is one of resilience, innovation, and commitment to community. We learned about their growth over the decades and the opportunities they’ve created for both their employees and our region.

We were able to have lunch together at Stoked Bar & Mechanical provided by Edward Jones- Financial Advisor: Heather Skaggs before wrapping up our afternoon.

We concluded the day with Dr. Christina Rowan, Clinical Director at Akron Physician Wellness Initiative, who led an important conversation about mental health and wellness in the workplace. Dr. Rowan emphasized the importance of recognizing challenges, seeking support when needed, and creating environments where individuals can thrive personally and professionally. Her message served as a powerful reminder that strong leadership begins with caring for ourselves and those around us.

We were also fortunate to have a special guest join us for part of the day—Ned, one of Wyandot County’s official canine ambassadors! Ned brought plenty of smiles to the group and served as a reminder of the many unique individuals (both two-legged and four-legged) who help make our community special.

Thank you to our presenters and hosts for investing in the next generation of leaders. Leadership Wyandot continues to provide meaningful opportunities to learn, grow, and strengthen our community together.
