The Logsdon Scholarship Fund, created by the late Giles and Carol Logsdon, will begin taking applications March 15, 2024. Peter Elementary School in Upper Sandusky, who’ve successfully completed one year of post-secondary education, are eligible to apply for a scholarship, which will help cover the student’s previous year’s tuition. Natives of Wyandot County, the Logsdons lived down the road from

where Giles was born and farmed both theirs and part of the original family farm while operating several businesses over the years. These included a wood burning stove store, first operated out of the former Harpster General Store and then from their home, an embroidery business, an orchard, and a Christmas tree farm. Carol likewise was a lifelong farmer who grew up in Eden Township.

🌟WCCF is pleased to announce the seven recipients of the Logsdon Scholarship Fund: Lauren Baker, Kenzie Cunningham, Ethan Hill, Evan Hill, Evan Hinesman, Claire Lortz, and Samuel Smith!🌟

Together, these students were awarded $17,000 in scholarships. Each recipient attended St. Peter Catholic School, graduated from high school, and is currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or trade school.

The Logsdon Scholarship Fund was established in memory of the late Giles and Carol Logsdon to provide annual scholarships to students who attended St. Peter Catholic School.

Wyandot County natives, Giles and Carol spent their lives working and serving in their community. The Logsdons lived near the farm where Giles was born and raised, farming both their own land and part of the original family farm. Throughout the years, they also operated several successful businesses, including a wood-burning stove store that began in the former Harpster General Store and later operated from their home, an embroidery business, an orchard, and a Christmas tree farm.

Applications for the 2026 Giles & Carol Logsdon scholarships are now open! Anyone who attended St. Peter School in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and who’s successfully completed at least one year of college or post-secondary education at a non-profit institution is eligible!
