I had the opportunity recently to speak at the Emanuel United Church of Christ, The Mud Church to the ladies group about the dress/sports/costume pantry and all we do. What a great group of women! Not only was I able to share about what we do and how it works, but they also brought dresses in the donate to the dress pantry!!

We are so lucky to live in such an amazing community where we all collaborate and work today ❤️ our volunteer Tricia Vanderpool set up this partnership with Trinity Evangelical Upward® Sports Leagues so that at their football evaluations some of our free cleats are available!! Everything about this benefits local families directly. From the volunteers at Trinity who put in all the hours for the kids to have flag football and all the time Tricia takes to sort and organize the cleats, it truly is amazing 🤩

Another reason for doing what we do! Prices at local goodwill have steadily been increasing. It used to be just the long prom dresses that were sometimes marked $15 but now even short formal dresses are $15! This pricing of course varies depending on the city but everything is costing more. These 2 dresses used to be $6.50 but now $15. Minimum wage in Ohio is $11 per hour. Imagine how many hours a parent would have to work at minimum wage to buy a dress, shoes, dance ticket and a meal :( with the dress pantry they can get the dress for free as well as the shoes!

When I went thrifting today this dress was already in someone's hands. But it is so gorgeous and i could tell it's a size were low on at the dress pantry (16). But I was patient and kept an eye on it so when the girls decided they didn't want it i snatched it up so fast! 🤣 But I was right.....I looked it up online and it's still being sold for over $200!! Not bad for a $7 find while thrifting!
