Men Who Can Cook 2026 was an absolute SOLD OUT success — filled with incredible flavors, amazing energy, wonderful camaraderie, great music, and unforgettable fellowship! Our 12 talented chefs brought their best dishes and serious culinary creativity, making the competition fierce and the afternoon unforgettable. Congratulations to Chef Mike Hayes, the official winner of the 2026 Men Who Can Cook competition! We extend heartfelt gratitude to all 12 Chefs who answered the call to help relaunch Men Who Can Cook after more than a 25-year hiatus. This was more than a cooking competition — it was the return of a signature J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association tradition. Each chef played an important role in helping bring this legacy event back to life for a new generation. A special thank you to Immediate Past President Chandra Walker Holloway and Gabriel Christian for co-chairing this outstanding event and helping create such a memorable experience for all who attended.

This reception was a wonderful opportunity to connect with newly admitted attorneys, welcome them into the Bourne family, and help them begin building meaningful professional relationships within the legal community. We were thrilled by the fantastic turnout and the spirit of encouragement and inspiration shared throughout the afternoon. The officers of the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association were delighted to attend the Bar Association of Montgomery County’s 132nd Annual Meeting and Law Week Celebration. It was a wonderful opportunity to fellowship with members of the bench and bar while celebrating the legal profession and the importance of access to justice in our communities. Special congratulations to our Corresponding Secretary Sara Furlow on receiving the BAMC Committee Chair of the Year Award for her outstanding work with the Youth Courthouse Project Committee.
