We in SARDOM are pleased to introduce our newest operational live-find area search canine team, Joe S. and K9 Dobby! They braved rain, wind, and challenging terrain to complete SARDOM’s internal requirements for operational status. The pair is also certified through NASAR, having achieved their K9 Sartech II before joining our team. We couldn’t be more proud to watch them succeed, and we look forward to all the great work they will do searching for the missing in our communities across Maryland.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the enduring courage of everyone who answered the call.
Among the chaos and devastation, a unique kind of heroism emerged. We especially remember the courageous first responders who ran toward danger, and the dedicated Search and Rescue K9 teams who worked tirelessly through the smoke and rubble. Driven by instinct, training, and an unwavering bond with their handlers, these dogs and their human partners searched against impossible odds to bring comfort and closure.
To every handler, first responder, and SAR operator past and present: thank you for your selfless dedication, your readiness to answer the midnight call, and your commitment to bringing the lost home. We will never forget. 🕯️🐾

EDIT: Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are moving the date of the Anniversary Party to November 7th!

Search and Rescue Dogs of Maryland turned 35 this past August! To Celebrate, we are hosting a 35th Anniversary Celebration party.

If you are a past member of SARDOM on our team roster and are interested in coming, please DM us your current information. Invitations will be going out, but please help us ensure we have your current contact information and additional details will be provided to you.

Come see old friends, meet new team members, connect with SARDOM supporters and thank Agencies that we have worked hand in hand with over the years.

Since we mentioned the word "Anniversary", we know the spam for scam shirts will probably happen, so here is our friendly reminder:
**ANY T-SHIRTS or MERCHANDISE ADVERTISED BY ANYONE OTHER THAN DIRECTLY BY THE SARDOM FACEBOOK ACCOUNT IS AN UNAUTHORISED USE OF OUR LOGO AND A SCAM. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY**

Thank you to the staff at Leash Free Living for administering the test. K9 Nero had a good time checking out the facility and meeting the very sweet and handsome Goblin who also helped out with the test.

Exciting news from SARDOM! 🚨 We're beyond thrilled to introduce our brand-new, red Whaley Boat, a total game-changer for our dedicated volunteer team! 🚣‍♂️ This custom-designed boat allows our highly trained K9 teams to rapidly access hard-to-reach shorelines, marshlands, and open water, supporting local law enforcement and fire departments in critical missing person cases at zero cost, enabling them to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations. 💯 With this new asset, we'll be able to expand our search capabilities, cover more ground, and ultimately bring hope to families searching for their loved ones.

To support our mission and help us continue to make a difference in our community, check out our new DONATE button on our website www.sardom.org, where you can contribute to our cause and help us keep our services free of charge for those who need them most. 💸 Your generosity will go directly towards fueling our operations, maintaining our equipment, and providing the necessary resources for our teams to perform their lifesaving work. Thank you for your support! ❤️

Our team has already been hard at work doing water training with the new boat. Check out a few pictures of some or K9’s and see if you can find the one who’s not quite like the rest! 😉
