Greetings Brothers & Sister,

Greetings and best wishes! We're overjoyed to share the incredible success of our recent Holiday Party, held this past Saturday.

Our Sneaker Contest and Blinged Out T-shirt contest were met with cheers and applause, but the unexpected stars of the night were our crabby friends. While there was some initial shell-shock about the idea, it turned out to be a pinch-worthy experience that left everyone in good spirits. Who knew crabs could be such a "claw-some" addition to our celebrations?

We were treated to a bountiful feast that left no appetite unsatisfied. The large amount of food, meticulously prepared by Martins Crosswinds, was a true feast for the senses. Kudos to the committee for their outstanding efforts in curating a menu that catered to all tastes and preferences.

But the excitement didn't stop there! The event was adorned with numerous prizes and gifts that added an extra layer of surprise and delight. Our community came together to celebrate the holiday spirit, and we couldn't be more thrilled with the outcome. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every member who braved the cold to make the Holiday Party a resounding success. Your presence and enthusiasm truly made the event a memorable experience for everyone.

As we reflect on the delightful memories created, we're excited to announce that we are already exploring the possibility of repeating this extraordinary experience next year.

Stay tuned for more highlights and photos on our website and page. And don't forget to mark your calendars for our General Membership Meeting on February 7, 2024. Let's continue the momentum and make the upcoming year just as memorable.

Thank you for being part of our fantastic community. Here's to more laughter, more surprises, and more unforgettable moments in the year ahead!

Best Regards,

Martin Diggs, President

INFORMATION ITEMS
BLUEPRINT IMPLEMENTATION UPDATE
Built into the Blueprint are rigorous new standards for public and private programs and educators. Beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, all pre-k teachers must be state certified in early childhood education or hold a bachelor’s degree and be pursuing residency through a Maryland Approved Alternative Preparation Program. The following documents outline all the information members and staff will need for implementation.

The first document, the ECE Licensure for Paraeducators one-pager, outlines the new certification changes that paraeducators must complete on or before the 2025-2026 school year. This is for members to use and local affiliates to share with our ESPs, so they have the most up-to-date information about certification requirements.

The second document, the, outlines the new certification changes that paraeducators must complete on or before the 2025-2026 school year with recommendations for implementation, including resources offered by the Maryland State Department of Education, Early Childhood Division. This is primarily for Uniserv Directors, Chief Negotiators, and local governance to utilize when considering opportunities for implementation.
