On August 12th, the room ERUPTED when Councilman Marion Minick publicly declared he would be a NO VOTE on developing the Mozino Forest! Follow the Save The Mozino Forest and the EAC for continued UPDATES!

Our fight to Save The Mozino Forest is not over. 💪

The developer said he would consider $8 million to sell the property to the township, as groups come out to offer in maintaining the land as open space.

It was standing room only last night at Upper Darby Township Council's SPECIAL MEETING to discuss the Community Mixed Use proposed ordinance of the Mozino Tract.

Residents, local conservationists, the EAC, township officials and Rockwell Development group shared their concers, viewpoints and even a VIABLE purchase option to Upper Darby Council for consideration.

After nearly three hours of passionate discussion, Township Council voted unanamously to TABLE any votes on the ordinance stating more information on the parcel is needed before a final decision can be made.

The EAC would like to thank the Upper Darby Township - Government for scheduling this special meeting and for listening. Many of you spoke openly about your support for preserving this space and we are encouraged.

Hats off to the Save The Mozino Forest coalition and all the residents and supporters who came out to share your stories about what this land means to you and to our community.

The Save the Save The Mozino Forest petition has nearly 1,200 signatures and is growing so please we need your CONTINUED support. This fight is NOT OVER it is just on hold.

Proposed Community Mixed Use (CMU) Zoning District

Upper Darby Township is committed to providing residents with transparent and accessible information. With that in mind, we have provided a webpage that serves as a resource for documents and information related to a proposed Text Amendment and Map Amendment: https://www.upperdarby.org/cmu

The applicant, Rockwell Drexel LLC, has worked collaboratively with Upper Darby Township's professional staff to prepare a proposed Community Mixed Use (CMU) Zoning District Ordinance and has prepared an illustrative sketch plan known as "Drexel Point." The sketch plan is intended to demonstrate a potential vision for development under the proposed zoning district and is provided for informational purposes.

Residents, property owners, and other interested parties are encouraged to review the materials provided to stay informed about the proposed Community Mixed Use (CMU) zoning district.
