We are hosting our annual Candidates Night on Tuesday, Oct. 18th from 6-9 p.m. at
the Upper Arlington Municipal Services Center, 3600 Tremont Road. This public forum provides UA residents an opportunity to meet candidates face-to-face and gain further insight to local issues.

This year there are no Upper Arlington City Council or Board of Education races, so we are focusing on local issues, judicial races and other candidates on the ballot. There is an open house in the lobby from 6-7 p.m. It is an informal opportunity for residents to personally take advantage of meeting candidates and understanding their campaign platforms. We will be featuring candidates and representatives during our open house from the below races and issues, with more to come.

Issue 5 – Upper Arlington Schools Levy, Justice of the Supreme Court, The Court of
Appeals, The Court of Common Pleas, Ohio Attorney General, Franklin County Auditor, Franklin County Commissioner with more to come!

At 7 p.m. each candidate will have time to introduce themselves and speak. No questions or debate will occur at this time. Those questions can be answered during the Open House or through follow up communication by campaigns.

Leadership Upper Arlington welcomes our community to join us.

Last week, we celebrated the Leadership UA Class of 2021 and Class of 2022 and recognized Margie Pizzuti and Kip Greenhill for their exceptional leadership and commitment to making our city a better place to live, work, and learn. Everyone was moved by heartfelt presentations by Dr. Brad Mitchell and The City of Upper Arlington - Government Manager Steve Schoeny, and Margie and Kip’s generous and personal acceptance speeches reminded all of us of what makes them so special. Perhaps the best part was simply seeing our board, our graduates, and their families gather in person and regain what we’ve missed over the last two years: a true sense of community.

Congratulations to the Class of 2021 (Kathy Adams (Councilmember), Brian Amicon, Mike Freeland, Katie Freeland, Beth Hatch, David Polakowski, Darren Shulman, Michael Stafford, David Tiggett, Erick Vretenar) and the Class of 2022 (Jen Downing, Kristin Greenberg, Megan Gregory, Megan Lippert, Jodi Osborne, Jason Sayat, Aaront Scott, Brent Theaker, Christy Walters, Christopher Zimmer). Thank you once again to Budros Ruhlin and Roe, Circle Line Partners, LLC, and Versatile Words for sponsoring the event. And a special thank you to LUA Executive Director Natalie Boe, who is stepping down to move with her family to Florida. Her thoughtful guidance throughout the pandemic helped keep our organization strong.
