From the moment we met Katie, we loved her.
Nicki introduced us, and she instantly became one of our Noisy Girl crew. Together we laughed and cried, raised awareness and raised our kids. She was pure light and pure joy and fought a 14 year battle with the courage and strength of the gritty Ytown girl she was. The teal rubber bracelet never left her wrist; she was always looking to educate and inform someone about this disease.
Katie’s life force was so strong, she made us all believe that we would never have to say goodbye to her. She wanted to make it to her beloved kids’ high school graduations. Instead, she was there for them through high school, college, and the launch of their adult lives, all with the love of her life, Eddie, standing by her side.
Way to go girl! You finished the race. We will miss you dearly. But your light can’t be extinguished. We will carry you forward in our hearts and continue the fight and the awareness efforts. Rest well… and then get the party started for the rest of us. We’ll see you on the other side. 🩵 (obituary 🔗 in bio)
