LeadingAge Ohio LeadingAge Ohio is advancing solutions for exceptional care and successful living.

Founded in 1937, LeadingAge Ohio is a nonprofit organization that represents approximately 400 nonprofit long-term care organizations located in more than 150 Ohio towns and cities, as well as those providing ancillary health care and housing services. Member organizations serve more than 50,000 elderly Ohioans daily and employ more than 20,000 persons statewide. Not-for-profit providers of senior

services include senior housing, both subsidized and market rate, adult day care, home- and community-based services, assisted living and skilled nursing.　A majority of　members are faith-based and provide many or all of these services. LeadingAge Ohio is a member-driven organization, with leadership elected by peers from around the state. The leadership team is composed of the Board of Directors, including executive committee officers; regional directors, responsible for organizing in-district member meetings; and delegates, who represent AOPHA at our national organization. Strategic committees, action councils and special interest groups comprised of members from around the state help to develop and oversee governing policies and positions.

Day 1 of the 2026 LeadingAge Ohio Annual Conference was packed from start to finish! ⭐ We opened with our Annual Business Meeting and an interactive conversation about the values that matter to our members, then welcomed Petra Marquart for our opening keynote. Attendees filled breakout sessions, recognized outstanding leaders during the Annual Awards Luncheon, added meaningful names to the Hall of Changemakers, stopped by the PAC baskets and made their mark on our interactive **Make Your Mark** art piece. We capped off the day by recognizing the newest graduates of the LeadingAge Ohio Leadership Academy!

And we are just getting started! 🎲 Day 2 brings another full day of education, followed by the Annual Trade Show and Game Night from 5-7 p.m. Meet our exhibitors, spend time with LeadingAge Ohio partners and end the day with games, food and plenty of friendly competition.

Rapid development of new technologies is fueling adoption across the senior living and care continuum as providers navigate increasing resident expectations as well as competence with artificial intelligence. The human element remains the most important aspect of care, however, according to the results of a new survey.

Ziegler Link•age Funds and the LeadingAge Center for Aging Services Technologies has released the second annual CTO Hotline Report of how senior living and care providers are approaching the evolving technology landscape, including how they prioritize new technology initiatives, address challenges and assess efficacy.

LeadingAge Ohio connected with 508 visitors at this year’s Healthy Aging Expo during the Ohio State Fair, helping fairgoers review and complete advance directives and consider their care-planning decisions.

We are deeply grateful to the two volunteer social workers from Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton who generously shared their time, expertise and compassion. These conversations help individuals document and share their wishes before a health care crisis, so families are not left making difficult decisions in the midst of an emergency.

We also asked fairgoers what excites them most about aging. Freedom, wisdom, retirement, travel and time with grandchildren were among the most popular answers. One visitor shared, “I have more skills every year, and more ideas for using them!”
