Today’s the day! Creativity takes center stage in Farmington at Child Health and Development Institute (CHDI)

Our YASBIZ CHDI Mini-Marketplace & Work & Progress Creative Experience Room brings YASBIZ participants together to share what they’ve made, explore new ideas, and connect through creativity.

We’re excited to celebrate our vendors and creators and grateful to CHDI for hosting us. Stay tuned for a look at the day!

One week away. Two hours to sell, create, explore, and connect!

Join us for the YASBIZ Child Health and Development Institute - CHDI Mini-Marketplace and Work & Progress Creative Room on Wednesday, October 28, from 11 AM to 1 PM at CHDI in Farmington, CT.

Vendor spaces are exclusively for current YASBIZ participants and alumni. Bring your artwork, handmade items, and creative ideas to the marketplace!

Not selling? Young adults are welcome to shop and explore creating something in our Creative Room, even if you’ve never participated in YASBIZ before.

Registration and attendance are FREE, with lunch included for attendees and agency staff.

A little inspiration, a room full of supplies, and an artist ready to create. Meet Andrew!

At our recent Work & Progress event at Continuum of Care in New Haven, Andrew picked up his paintbrush and drew inspiration from places he’s been and things he enjoys. With supplies to explore and space to develop his ideas, he got to work creating artwork he’s excited to sell at our upcoming YASBIZ Child Health and Development Institute (CHDI) Mini-Marketplace!

We can’t wait to see what else Andrew brings to life. And we’d love for YOU to join him!

We’re looking for more artists, makers, and vendors to bring their artwork, handmade items, and creations to the marketplace.

Nothing to sell? Come anyway! Our creative room will offer a Work & Progress experience where you an explore supplies, try something new, and discover what inspires you, just like Andrew did. Present and former YASBIZ participants, along with young adults from our partner agencies who are new to YASBIZ, are welcome.

Put a room full of creative people together, and watch what happens.

On October 14, we headed to New Haven, Connecticut, where Continuum of Care opened their doors to YASBIZ for Work & Progress!

Street Smart Ventures brought the supplies to spark creativity. Think walking into the office supply section at Staples and grabbing one of everything. The enthusiasm spread from the young adult creators to the staff, who became creators themselves. Everywhere you turned, people were sharing interests, exchanging ideas, and making something of their own.

And we can’t forget the incredible lunch Britney put together for everyone in attendance!

That’s what Work & Progress is about: a place to build, grow, and create in community. Thank you to Continuum of Care and everyone who helped bring this day to life.

Next up: the Child Health and Development Institute (CHDI) Mini-Marketplace, where many of these creations will be available for purchase. Catch you there!

People want to create. They want connection. They want to be part of something.

On my way to Work & Progress this morning, that’s what’s on my mind. When we give people the space to make things together, ideas start flowing, conversations happen, and a sense of purpose can grow.

Today we’re bringing that space to Continuum of Care in New Haven! Bring a project, an idea, or just your curiosity. You don’t need a business or experience with YASBIZ to get started.

Free to attend, materials available, and lunch included. Staff eat too!

Work & Progress is a social workroom where young adults can explore ideas, create products, work on projects, and connect with others. No experience necessary, and you don’t need to have a business to participate!

Young adults from our participating agencies are welcome at the YASBIZ Mini-Marketplace at Child Health and Development Institute (CHDI) , even if you’ve never joined a YASBIZ activity before.
