From our partners 516 Project Ministry. If you would like to volunteer to help Virginians affected by the winter weather, read more below and click on their volunteer registration link.

This map represents real neighbors who need help after the ice and snow. We’re doing everything we can, but right now the need is greater than the number of volunteers available.

If you’re able to help clear ice or snow from a driveway, even for one home, you can make a huge difference! We’ll continue serving as many people as possible and are actively mapping and coordinating for the days ahead.

This week will remain cold in Virginia with more possible snow this coming weekend. The Salvation Army USA has opened warming centers to provide emergency shelter, extra beds, hot meals, warm drinks, and cold-weather gear, along with compassion and care for those facing dangerous winter conditions.

If you are in need of help in the Fredericksburg, Virginia area or can volunteer or donate, please check out 516 Project Ministry. They are assisting with winter weather impacts.

Today our team was out responding to winter weather needs! Shoveling driveways and walkways for elderly neighbors who need safe access in and out of their homes for health aides and essential care. Snow and ice can quickly become a barrier, and sometimes a clear path makes all the difference!

If you or someone you know needs assistance after the storm, help can be requested through the link on our website. We review requests as they come in and deploy teams as safely and quickly as possible. www.516project.org

With more snow expected this weekend, we encourage folks to plan ahead and reach out if emergent help is needed. We’re here to serve our community, one driveway, one home, one neighbor at a time. ❄️💙

With many areas seeing icy bodies of waters, including puddles, ponds, creeks, and some rivers, this is a reminder to NOT try and walk on any of them. The ice will be too thin to support you and could lead to injury or worse. Please practice ice safety!
