Freddie headed off to CARA (Central Arizona Riding Academy) for a month or so to be ridden by several different people, who actually know dressage 😂 He got to meet Petunia the Pig and Don-Key Xote (Don Quixote. Get it? 🤣🤣) and is quite enamored with his new neighbor, Wonderella.

The main person riding Freddie will be Peter Kalman. If you want to read about a fascinating life, read this article about him! Peter should really write a book about everything he's done.

Enjoy your time getting back in shape Freddie! Fingers crossed your person sees you there

We're pretty sure Hudson's new name is going to be "Poor Hudson." This guy just can't catch a break. We got his white line under control and his headshaking got worse. We got both under control and he broke out in hives. The headshaking got worse, but the hives went away and the white line was almost gone. We got his headshaking back under control, but the white line came back with a vengeance. The outside of his hoof was looking great, but as soon as the farrier took off the shoe and pad on Saturday, Hudson's hoof basically fell apart from the inside. We're working hard to get everything fixed at the same time, but boy he is a challenge...

People often ask why we try to keep parts of registered names as barn names. Well, this is why: a few days ago we got a message from someone who owned Hudson as a 2-yr-old! He was thinking about Hudson and a Google search led him to us. He filled in a few gaps, answered some questions, and raised a few more questions. Apparently, this quirky boy was found at 2 at a barn down the street from a rescue. They had him a couple of weeks and adopted him out to the person who contacted us. He said that he finished Hudson's Jockey Club registration, had him gelded (yes, he was adopted out intact and with no gelding requirements), and exposed him to a lot of things (which is probably why he's good with obstacles and desensitizing stuff). Hudson was an accident prone baby and his adopter decided it was safer to return him to the rescue. We now know how he got the scars on his hind left. Hudson apparently changed hands several times in his short life before he landed with us. Had we not said his registered name so many times, Hudson Street, we might not have been able to give his former adopter peace of mind. Enjoy some pictures of Hudson as a 2-yr-old!

Poor Hudson. From far away he looks great! He's not shaking his head at all, and he's in the bright sun without his fly mask!!! So exciting! Unfortunately, when you get close, you see yesterday's rain brought out the flies and his welts. At least his head is ok...

It was chiro day for Hudson and Freddie. Dr Daryl Casterton said that Hudson was very, very tight. We have no way of knowing if he's tight because of the headshaking or if he's headshaking because he's tight. We should see in a couple of days if chiro helps and is something we should add to the acupuncture and meds. She agreed that because of how severe his condition is, he will probably not ever be adoptable. Lucky for him he ended up here and not at auction.

Freddie kept swapping his hind lead, which was a major clue something wasn't quite right. Dr Casterton said his pelvis was tipped down on the left side. That makes sense considering I got an adjustment on Tuesday and was told the same thing LOL.

Both boys are back in alignment and happy. If you'd like to help with the $300 bill, all donations are tax deductible.

We want to wish everyone a happy and safe new year!

Stevie Wonder spent the night "watching" the fireworks while Wonky spent the night trying to get more food from us.

Hudson was considerably calmer this holiday and we didn't need to sedate him! His head was ticking more than normal though. Poor guy. Every time we get one step forward with his head shaking, we end up 2 steps back.

Wonky Donkey got his teeny-tiny, itty-bitty shoes and pads and has rejoined W***y and Stevie Wonder. His feet are tiny, but so are Caroline's hands, so his hooves look like a normal size 😂.

Fabulous Freddie got a quick free-lunge. How is he still with us? He's gorgeous. He's got a great personality. He's an easy keeper. He's even trained to 2nd-level classical dressage!! He is not a trail or beginner's horse though.
