Open borders and far-left, democratic socialist organizations contributed to the destructive riots and protests in France. But according to BBC, they were “mostly peaceful.” 🤔

America must take this as a warning call to stay vigilant and get out the vote in every election to ensure what’s happening in France and other European countries never happens in our homeland.

We heard from Kathleen Benfield from Louisiana Family Forum, Jolie Williamson on behalf of Jeff Landry, YWA Fellow Bethany Wagoner, CWA State Director Laura Huber, and our very own CEO and President Penny Nance.

🇫🇷 France in crisis - a warning for the West

On October 17, 2026, mass demonstrations across France escalated into some of the country’s worst riots in years. Shops were looted, buildings were set ablaze and police clashed with violent groups. More than 2,400 people were arrested during the weekend, according to Reuters.

The immediate protests centered on rising living costs and strained public services, but the unrest comes amid a broader national debate over immigration, assimilation and France’s cultural identity. President Donald Trump has linked the protests to mass immigration and Islam, reflected in the Palestinian flags covering the whole city and the use of Allah as a justification in many demonstrations.

As Christians, we can uphold the dignity of every person while defending religious liberty, the rule of law and the freedoms that generations have fought to preserve.

We must have the courage to confront difficult questions before division becomes the norm.
