Great News for Taylor/Moosic Scouting!
I'm happy to share that Taylor Pack 44 Cub Scouts is officially re-chartered with the Northeastern Pennsylvania Council of Scouting America!
For years, a dedicated group of parents and leaders has worked hard to keep the Pack strong for kids in our community. This spring we began doing activities jointly with Old Forge Pack 98. While we remain separate packs administratively, we've become one big scouting group serving kids in Taylor, Moosic, Old Forge and more.
Some of our recent activities include:
🏕 Overnight camping at Lackawanna State Park
🏊 Private swim night at the Greater Scranton YMCA
🏒 Scouts Night with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins
Last night we held our Bridging Ceremony, celebrating scouts who advanced in rank. Seeing their accomplishments is a reminder of why this program matters.
Earlier tonight, many of our scouts and families helped place 750+ American flags at Old Forge Cemetery ahead of Memorial Day. Pack 98 will march in the Old Forge parade, while we (Pack 44) will march in Taylor's parade.
Coming up this summer:
⚾ Scouts Night with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (including camping on the field)
🏕 Summer camps at Camp Acahela and Goose Pond Scout Reservation
🎖 Our Pack's Summer Passport program and more.
New scouts can JOIN ANYTIME - you don't have to wait until fall.
But just as important, Scouting only works because of parents who step up as volunteers and leaders. If you're looking for a way to get involved with your child, help your community, and be part of something meaningful, this is an incredibly rewarding experience. We always welcome parents who want to help keep Scouting strong for the next generation.
