𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁

Kent Friends Meeting had their annual retreat this morning, March 14, 2026. It began with some nibbles and coffee or tea, followed by a period of worship, then a discussion of the retreat topic:

"𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆: 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝒑𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒊𝒕? 𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒘𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕?"

It was at times a challenging and somber discussion, but helpful to understand we are not alone in experiencing heartbreak, sadness, and pain. It is an integral part of life and everyone goes through it in different ways. It is with others' support and love that we pass through and continue on - decidedly changed, and possibly scarred, but more resilient.

After the discussion we had shared meal. It seemed some had the notion of losing a few seasonal pounds based on the number of salads contributed. As always there was a good variety of dishes and desserts, and all were delicious.
