Big changes are coming to speech-language pathology treatment coding beginning January 1, 2027. 📣
CPT 92507 will be deleted and replaced by 10 new time-based treatment codes, organized into five clinical categories. Each category will have a base code for the initial 30 minutes of direct, one-on-one treatment and an add-on code for each additional 15 minutes.

Speech Sound Production Disorders
92656 | +92657

Language Comprehension & Expression Disorders
92658 | +92659

Combined Speech Sound + Language Disorders
92660 | +92661

Voice, Upper Airway Dysfunction and/or Resonance Disorders
92662 | +92663

CPT 92507 remains in effect through December 31, 2026, so do not begin using the new codes early. CPT 92508 will remain available as an untimed code for group treatment.

MSHA encourages Mississippi SLPs, practice owners, administrators and billing professionals to begin preparing now by reviewing documentation, billing systems and payer requirements. 🔎📄

In Memoriam: Doris Joy Parker Bradley 🖤

The Mississippi Speech-Language-Hearing Association (MSHA) extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of former MSHA member Doris Joy Parker Bradley, who passed away on May 26, 2026.

We are grateful for Mrs. Bradley’s connection to MSHA and the speech-language-hearing community and join those who knew her in remembering her life and legacy. The relationships built through our profession extend far beyond our work, and we are saddened by the loss of a member of our MSHA family.
We extend our deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved Mrs. Bradley and honor her memory and contributions to our professional community.

📣 Your Voice Matters: Advocate on Capitol Hill

On September 23, MSHA member Elizabeth Burklow, EdD, CCC-SLP will represent Mississippi as part of the ASHA Committee of Ambassadors during Capitol Hill Day.

Elizabeth and other Mississippi MSHA members participating will have the opportunity to meet with Mississippi’s congressional representatives and advocate for the individuals we serve across our state.

You can help make your voice heard, too. ASHA is inviting members to write a letter sharing their concerns about healthcare, education, and other issues affecting the people we serve. Letters submitted by September 10 will be printed by ASHA and hand-delivered to representatives during Capitol Hill Day.
