Friends of Natural Bridge State Park The Friends of Natural Bridge State Park support, promote, and protect the park located in Natural Bridge, Virginia.

If you would like to join FONBSP please see our website:
https://friends-of-natural-bridge-state-park.square.site/ Once owned by Thomas Jefferson and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the 215-foot tall Natural Bridge is a limestone gorge carved out by Cedar Creek. Beautiful forests, open, rolling meadows showcase the area’s karst terrain, and vistas of surrounding mountains and the James River valley display nature’s splendor. Access these via 6 miles of hiking trails, including the accessible Cedar Creek Trail that leads from the bridge to the Monacan Indian Village and Lace Falls with its 30-foot cascade.

⚠️ Winter safety alert ⚠️

Sub-freezing temperatures will continue through the weekend, and icy conditions remain in some areas of state parks, including trails. Please plan ahead and stay safe:

✔️ Check weather conditions before your visit
✔️ Dress in layers
✔️ Wear high-traction footwear
✔️ Carry emergency supplies

Important: Keep your pets leashed and do NOT attempt to walk on lakes, even if they appear frozen. Changing currents and uneven ice thickness make the surfaces unpredictable and dangerous.
